, is the overarching antagonist of the
My Hero Academia
manga
and
anime
series. He is the founder and distributor of the
League of Villains.

Once Japan’s virtually powerful
villain, and
All Might‘s arch-nemesis, his full identity is unknown. His ultimate goal is to steal his
niggling brother‘s
Quirk,
Ane For All, the simply Quirk that can oppose him, shaping
Tomura Shigaraki
into the perfect vessel before somewhen conquering the rest of the world.

He was imprisoned in
Tartarus
after his 2nd defeat at All Might’south hands until he escaped several months later, now single-mindedly focused on destroying the ninth wielder of One For All,
Izuku Midoriya, to consummate his centuries-long program.

Appearance

After being mortally injured past All Might years agone, All For 1’south face is entirely fabricated up of scar tissue, extending from above his upper lip and covering his entire head and the back of his cervix. Equally such, he has no visible nose, ears, hair or eyes, though the outlines of his eye sockets are visible. All For One is blind, merely “sees” by using an
Infrared
Quirk and by sensing the directions of vibrations in the expanse around him, like to echolocation. There is a small hole in each palm of his hands, which is how he steals and transfers Quirks.

In the past, All For One possessed potent, imposing features, curt white pilus, and luminous red eyes. Yet, his face has never been clearly shown, and his eyes are oft shadowed. He usually wears a dark arrange over a white shirt.

When All For 1 left his cloak-and-dagger hideout during the
Kamino Incident, he donned a navy blue, skull-like gas mask with angular tubes at the summit, a broad collar-similar life-support system effectually his neck with additional pipes connecting in the front end and back, presumably to help him breathe.

For his confrontation with Izuku, he wears a smoother skull mask with a much wider, sleeker collar. He also wears a patterned belong underneath his suit.

Personality

All For One is a subtle, sadistic and malevolent man, who likes to rule from the shadows and enjoys himself at the expense of people. Yoichi gives insights into his personality to
Izuku Midoriya
in a dream. In the past, All For One did use his powers to help people, simply in substitution for their servitude. Once they were no longer able to follow his orders, All For Ane would callously abandon them, and those who defied his will were purged by his followers. All For I shows extreme signs of egomania and fifty-fifty traits of an outright God complex, comparing himself to the Demon Lord he read in comic books, while likewise having relished in his total ability over Japan and seeing himself equally a supreme being. He also displays signs of kleptomania, claiming that he can’t resist stealing a powerful Quirk when the opportunity presents itself.
[4]

In the by, All For One cared for his younger brother Yoichi, although he was condescending towards him. He mocked his frail brother, maxim that without power, it is impossible to affirm 1’s ideals.
[five]

All For One has a firm contempt for ideals of justice and morality, dismissing them every bit behavior of other people that shackle personal freedom.
[6]

Presently, All For 1’s greatest obsession is to steal One For All, a Quirk that originated from Yoichi and the one Quirk that he cannot steal.

All For One’south belief in Tomura.

All For One is a patient mentor towards his protégé, Tomura. He offers constructive criticism and encouragement to Tomura whenever the latter fails. He also prefers to teach Tomura past providing him opportunities and different experiences that he can larn from. However, this benevolence is a façade, because All For One views Tomura as a valuable tool to steal 1 For All. This is made apparent during the Paranormal Liberation War, when All For I forcibly possesses Tomura despite the latter’due south protests, revealing that he sees Tomura as a vessel rather than a successor.

All For One despises those who persistently defy him, specially the users of I For All. He loathes All Might in particular for ruining his syndicate and crippling him. He is besides a firm laic in the hatred of the heart, assertive it to exist a very strong source of power. When mentoring Tomura, All For One gave him the hands of his deceased relatives every bit a way for the negative feelings in his center to always remain shut, while also giving him a sense of comfort. When encountering the previous wills of One For All in the mental globe, the vestige of All For One was not troubled when Tomura started to loathe him, stating that this hatred was simply more fitting for the Symbol of Fear.

Due to his immense ability and confidence, All For One has a at-home and condescending demeanor, confident fifty-fifty when thwarted and imprisoned.
[7]

Later, the villain reveals to
Dabi
that he never depends on a single programme to achieve a goal and has multiple contingencies.
[8]

Despite his hegemony, All For One presents himself as polite, sympathetic and generous towards his assembly and underlings akin. However this is only glib which All For One employs to subtly dispense people into following his bidding, showing no concern for them one time they are captured or outlive their usefulness. He admits to Dabi that he sees people as zero more than than disposable tools – should they fail him, he shrugs and moves on to the next alternative.
[9]

Thanks to a combination of Quirks, All For One can notice lies and hostility, with which he can preemptively eliminate traitors. Due to his long life, too as his status and experience, he is well-informed most nearly every significant figure among heroes and villains.

While All For One is completely selfish, he is willing to die for his ideals and volition not spare any effort to ensure that his idea of a Symbol of Evil will go on even subsequently his decease. While he wants to possess Tomura’southward torso for his ain ends, All For One does not mind if Tomura manages to kill him, as long as he continues his legacy. Similarly, he has no problem with sacrificing his own sense of cocky and assuasive his consciousness to merge with Tomura’southward in order to become a new evil force entirely.

All For 1 denies that he’s at fault, explaining how his followers act on his very whim.

Every bit a side effect of his own Quirk, All For One explains that he often suffers from nightmares where the people from whom he stole Quirks appear in his dreams and hurl insults at him. Despite his remorseless personality, All For 1 admits that such episodes leave him very discouraged at times. He scoffs at the idea of him being able to feel guilt however, assertive information technology to be a trait of inferior humans.
[x]

As further proof of his disengagement, he has repeatedly denied blame for whatever of his deportment, instead laying the error on his followers who only wanted to support him or who otherwise sided with his plans for their own reasons, despite the evident fact that he had manipulated all parties involved into acting on his behalf with love laced promises while taking advantage of their personal and emotional vulnerabilities to coerce them to enact his will, persistently refusing to admit that he is to be held responsible, while at the same time gloating nearly his results and his alleged power to reach his goals, grinning with hypocritical delight. While it was initially believed that his followers were in fact carrying out his orders out of loyalty to him, it is revealed that there are those who obey him out of fearfulness of reprisal, a strong rebutal of All For One’s conventionalities that his supporters are acting out of their ain volition and possible evidence of either a deluded sense of support to his ideals, or downright despicable lies to deflect blame.

It is implied that the reason he requires the hatred and will of Tomura to successfully steal I For All in the beginning place is because he himself does not carry whatsoever hate, or at least nowhere nigh equally much every bit needed.
Hawks
questions why after so many years of chasing down One For All he would not deeply resent the users to that great of an extent, and theorizes that this is because there is something missing in his soul, pointing out how he is always smiling.
[xi]

This is supported by the fact that, no matter how fell or sadistic his actions or those who fight him or thwart his ambitions, he never seems to hold or showroom true malice or emotions. This could be due to him being and so selfish, he literally cannot intendance about annihilation beyond himself plenty to form the required attachments that are needed to create a powerful grudge or strong feeling of revenge.

Although All For I grew a very strong contempt and hatred towards All Might for having permanently damaged his body and taking away his dominion and condition over Japan. All For Ane later admits that he has lost all involvement in All Might and is now focused on the current One For All wielder, Izuku Midoriya.
[12]

Information technology appears that All For 1 is so egomaniacal, to the point where simply those who persistently stand in his mode and are strong plenty to defy him warrant both his abiding attention and hatred. He is that emotionally inclined towards his goals, that he is either dismissive or manipulative towards all else, seeing people either as obstacles in his manner or pawns for him to dispense for his own gain.

Abilities

All For One’southward sheer power is enough to effortlessly counter and repel the Symbol of Peace All Might, who is notorious for his brute forcefulness.

Overall Abilities: All For One is Japan’due south near powerful villain. Thanks to the
Life Forcefulness
Quirk, All For One is virtually immortal, and has been active since the emergence of Quirks. He has nerveless numerous Quirks with an extensive range of applications and tin can combine them as he pleases. This, forth with his ability to steal any Quirk from his opponent makes All For One nigh impossible to defeat. The villain volition utilise any means necessary to hurt his opponent before killing them.

Even in his prime number, All For Ane hands defeated powerful Pro Heroes, making himself appear unequaled and unstoppable.
[13]

The only individuals that can effectively oppose the Symbol of Evil are the inheritors of One For All, a Quirk All For One himself inadvertently created, and the only Quirk he can’t steal (though he tried to steal it from
Daigoro Banjo
and
En, twice). All For One sought each Ane For All user (excluding Hikage Shinomori), and hands killed them by overwhelming them with his barrage of Quirks. However, All For One was unable to steal One For All, nor prevent any of the users from passing the Quirk. Even so, All For I remained unchallenged until the rise of All Might. All Might possessed the necessary forcefulness to challenge All For One, and the two opponents fought a bloody duel. Although All Might sustained crippling injuries, he succeeded in defeating All For One, forcing the villain to rely on life back up system.

All For I uses his ultimate combination of Quirk to clash with All Might one final time.

Six years later, despite losing all his senses and unable to recover from his injuries, All For Ane was far from weak. He single handedly overpowered
Endeavor,
Best Jeanist,
Edgeshot,
Mt. Lady, and
Gran Torino
with little effort, equally well as fight on par with All Might until the hero was exhausted out of his muscle form. With his ultimate Quirk combination, coupled with All Might’south declining power, All For I virtually succeeded in killing All Might, simply the latter summoned his willpower and used the last of his power to knock out the Symbol of Evil.

  • Immense Strength: All For One is extremely strong, being able to hands trade blows with All Might, whose concrete strength was thought to be unrivaled. In his zenith, he was able to effortlessly overpower pre-Nomu
Hood, though the latter was weakened from battling
    O’Clock
    and his allies.
    [fourteen]
  • Immense Speed: All For One has incredible speed, every bit shown when he completely destroyed the Nomu mill, defeated the 4 Pro Heroes that were there, and dealt significant damage to the surrounding area in a split 2d. He also has precipitous reflexes, being fast enough to react to All Might’s punches and casually contrivance attacks from Edgeshot, who can transform faster than the speed of sound.
  • Immense Immovability: Despite being in a disheveled state with severe injuries, All For One possesses an inhuman corporeality of durability. During the entirety of his second boxing with All Might, he, unlike the latter, never flinched or otherwise screamed from hurting, proving that the Symbol of Evil can withstand the Symbol of Peace’southward subversive blows with monstrous resilience. Another testament of his sturdiness was when All For One survived All Might’s
United States of Blast, though was rendered unconscious afterward.
  • Enhanced Senses: Due to All For One beingness blind, his hearing improved immensely, as he is able to perceive his surround by audio. He tin can besides sense vibrations in the air.
    [15]

An example of this was displayed when All For One speedily dispelled a
    flame attack
from Endeavor, who had arrived on the scene with Edgeshot. However, this power does accept its limits, which is shown when he is placed in Tartarus: the lack of sound and vibrations leaves him completely oblivious to his surroundings.

Genius Intellect: All For One possesses an boggling level of intellect, nearly likely due to his advanced age and life feel. He ruled Nippon from the shadows for over a hundred years, with near of the public being ignorant of his existence. He is well-informed near current diplomacy and virtually significant figures among both heroes and villains. He also possesses a vast knowledge of the Quirks he’s stolen, which enables him to use them effectively.

While cavalier towards his opponents, All For One is an expert at observing his enemies and exploiting their flaws. Another terrifying aspect of All For Ane’southward intelligence is his ability to casualty on people’s insecurities. Enlightened that All Might notwithstanding mourned his mentor, Nana Shimura, All For I used that to taunt the hero by insulting her, besides as reveal that Tomura is Nana’southward grandson. Afterward, he exposed All Might’s emaciated form to the public to demoralize them besides as humiliate the hero.

From observing All Might, All For I deduced that he no longer possesses Ane For All and Izuku Midoriya inherited the Quirk. In the aftermath of the Kamino Incident, information technology was revealed that All For One predictable the possibility of his second defeat at the hands of All Might, and knew if that were to happen, he would exist unable to transfer his All For One Quirk onto Tomura equally planned. To ensure the inheritance of his ability was fulfilled, the Symbol of Evil, prior to resurfacing, had his Quirk replicated by his dr.,
Kyudai Garaki, leaving All For One with the copied variant, and the Doc with the original variant, which would so later be passed downwardly to Tomura.
[16]

When attacking Tartarus with his ground forces of High-End Nomu, All For Ane was able to overcome the prison’south nearly impenetrable defenses through a coordinated assail from the exterior (since his consciousness took command of Tomura’southward torso) and within (where his original body was housed). He successfully freed all the prisoners in Tartarus, including his original body.
[17]

Given his inability to steal One For All, and noesis of Quirks being imprinted with the original user’s consciousness,
[10]

it has been discussed that All For One primarily grooms Tomura’s negative emotions and so the former’southward will within of the All For 1 Quirk tin can more hands inhabit Tomura’s modified chassis, all in a final attempt for the original Symbol of Evil to learn One For All.
[18]

All For Ane’s impregnable will overshadows Tomura’s listen and body.

Indomitable Will: Befitting his epithet, the Symbol of Evil, All For One possesses a malefic volition so resolute, that he was able to easily amass hordes of followers in his long life through sheer influence. Within and outside the battleground, All For 1 is entirely unfazed by unforeseen spectacles that would exit him otherwise intimidated or unhinged, and he commonly maintains his complacent attitude even when he seems to exist at a disadvantage. His presence has shown to exist so malicious and dark, Izuku,
Tenya Ida,
Momo Yaoyorozu,
Shoto Todoroki, and
Eijiro Kirishima
were completely paralyzed with fright, despite the quintet previously experiencing life-or-decease situations and encountering lethal villains. All For One’s volition is also great enough for his original Quirk to overwhelm Tomura Shigaraki’s ain willpower and possess the young villain similar a puppet. This is convenient as All For One plans to transfer his consciousness into Tomura, intending to become a more powerful being.

However, in spite of having his ambitions thwarted fourth dimension and again by users of One For All and the circumstance of All Might destroying his body and permanently crippling him, his hatred, if whatever, isn’t strong enough to allow him to override the will of One For All or it user. Even disregarding the concrete requirements to accept One For All into himself, he seems to lack the emotional resolve to overpower the wills of the spirits in I For All. This seems to point that while his will is supremely strong when it comes to resisting things that might change him personally (his sense of self/personality), he doesn’t seem to care enough virtually anyone or anything to accept an emotional investment to strengthen his volition. Tellingly, it’due south only when Tomura is in a negative state and consumed by rage that All For One can accept control as rage causes people to become unstable and forget themselves.

Quirks

All For One using his Quirk.

All For I

(オール・フォー・ワン
,

Ōru Fō Wan

?

)
: All For I’due south Quirk allows him to steal other people’s Quirks, leaving them
Quirkless, and wield the Quirks as his own. All For One can also redistribute his stolen Quirks to other people.

His multiple Quirks grant him a very wide variety of options in combat, and he tin combine his stolen Quirks to create compound attacks with devastating furnishings. However, he cannot steal the original users’ Quirk proficiency and is therefore limited by his own skill with his stolen powers. Because of this, he prefers to steal Quirks that rely on raw power, rather than ones that accept exercise and feel to master.

While he can steal any Quirk, All For I’south body cannot properly contain Quirks of newer generations, which is the reason why he sought Dr. Garaki’south medical inquiry. He too mentions having frequent nightmares where the consciousnesses of the people he stole Quirks from announced before him.

Shortly earlier the Kamino Incident, his Quirk was duplicated by Physician Garaki and the original version of information technology was given to Tomura, while All For One kept the copied version.
[16]

A conscious vestige of All For One remains within the original Quirk and has the capabilities of overriding Tomura’southward volition and command his body, though it is currently unaware how much of a connection the vestige and original All For One take to each other.

All For One has stolen a broad diverseness of Quirks with his ability, including:

  • Several unnamed Quirks: All For 1 transferred several Quirks to fighters in the Surreptitious Masquerade including: an electricity-based power, beast-like traits, making the user turtle-like with a spiked shell and cannon on their back, granting the user wings in place of arms, giving the user arm-scythes, making the user wolf-like, a strength enhancer, and a reptilian transformation.
    [33]
Popular:   The Curse of Zaros Rs3

It is also possible that he possessed some, if not all, of
the Quirks possessed by his Nomu, likewise as Gigantomachia’s additional Quirks.

Super Moves

  • Ultimate Quirk Combination
: All For Ane utilizes the strongest combination of Quirk that he currently holds inside his body to profoundly enhance his right arm, combining Springlike Limbs, Multiplier, Hypertrophy, Rivet, Air Walk, and Spearlike Bones, besides equally 4 Kinetic Booster Quirks and three Forcefulness Enhancer Quirks. This combination of Quirks is what All For One attempted to utilise in social club to kill All Might. He even added Affect Recoil onto this combination to better his chances of defeating All Might.

    are every bit following:

    • Ranked 49th in the 2d Popularity Poll.
    • Ranked 69th in the fourth Popularity Poll.
    • Ranked 40th in the fifth Popularity Poll.
  • All For One’s blackness, ornate mask and life-support system were possibly inspired by the character of
Darth Vader, the iconic antagonist of the first

    Star Wars

trilogy and recurring element of the franchise every bit a whole.

    • While the black skull-like shape comes from the
      Batman
      villain
      Blackness Mask.
    • He also resembles the
      Superman
      villain
Ultra-Humanite, one of the outset recurring villains in comics with a genius intellect and the ability to transfer his listen into other beings, as he does when his Quirk becomes transferred into Tomura.
  • All For 1 is one of the oldest known individuals in the series, predating generations of users of One For All and their associates, such as the elderly Gran Torino, though it’southward unclear whether he’s older than Doctor Garaki.
  • All For 1 has the most Quirks in the series, later on New Gild destroyed several Quirks belonging to Tomura.
  • All For One is a dark parallel to All Might.
    • All For Ane had once been Japan’due south worst villain, just like All Might was Nippon’s greatest hero. This is further emphasized past All For I begetting the epithet “Symbol of Evil”, contrasting with All Might’s epithet “Symbol of Peace”.
    • Both besides passed on their respective Quirks All For One and Ane For All to their successors, with the intention of them improving their usage and taking upwardly their onetime titles as the “Symbol of Peace” and “Symbol of Evil”, though All For One still has a copy of his Quirk.
  • All For One’due south relationship with Tomura is a night mirror to All Might’s relationship with Izuku. Like All Might, All For One believes that Tomura will not only become a great successor of the League of Villains, but a cracking villain in full general. He too acknowledges Tomura’s childish nature, leaving room for him to teach him how to become a villain. He also shows a caring side for him, equally he assured that Tomura volition always exist able to learn from his failures.
    • Because of this, Tomura looks up to All For Ane as his ideal mentor and inspirational figure, similar how Izuku looks up to All Might.
    • Despite his artless beliefs, it seems to be implied that All For 1 admires Tomura’s personality in an odd way, similar to All Might’s own adoration of Izuku’s personality. When he defeated Best Jeanist, he refuses to have away his Quirk, as he believes that “it wouldn’t fit Tomura’due south personality”.
    • The biggest departure between the two is that while All Might truly wants Izuku Midoriya to be his successor. All For 1, notwithstanding, has selfish reasons for grooming Tomura as his successor. Over the decades, All For One plant it increasingly crushing to shop Quirks due to the Quirk singularity and his trunk was extremely damaged following his first battle with All Might, and thus needed a more superior and healthy trunk to properly contain avant-garde Quirks and regain his force. That was the reason he had Tomura undergo the body augmentation surgery and transplanted the original All For One Quirk onto him, so that he could take over the younger villain’s body. The other reason was that Tomura’due south hatred would theoretically permit All For One steal I For All, which would have otherwise been impossible.
  • While he was imprisoned in Tartarus, his prison number was 1541.
  • All For 1 is the showtime known villain to name himself later his Quirk: the latters are
    Kai Chisaki
    and
Hari Kurono, and the thirds are
    Chojuro Kon
    and
    Kiruka Hasaki.
